Teaching Philosophy

I conceive my teaching philosophy as a journey through which my students and I embark for one semester. I guide them to overcome obstacles and I cherish the end of their journey where, in language courses for example, they can give presentations, converse in the target language and measure their learning progress. My holistic teaching approach does not separate a language from its social and historical contexts. My goal has always been to bring my students to better understand and to question some implicit cultural assumptions. I strive to promote cross-cultural awareness and appreciation in the diverse courses I have been teaching.
